Current research highlights the important developmental effects of relationship upon the infant’s sense of self, personality, and attachment.  A healthy relationship enables the infant to adjust socially and to learn from experience.  Disturbances of this relationship have life long impacts.  Early intervention includes prevention and treatment.  This seminar will examine articles focusing on the relationship between parent and child. Discussion of readings and clinical examples will enable clinicians to apply what is learned in this seminar to their work with the infant in the adult as well as with parents and their infants.  Please join us.

Prerequisites: Infant Observation or permission of instructors. Open to all interested clinicians.

This is a required seminar for the Secure Beginnings Certificate Program in Parents and Infants, and the first term (6 sessions) is required by the Listening Mothers Group Leader Program.
